Hey guys!
Finally decided to write my first blog post about the awesome food scene here in California. And guess what? The spotlight goes to my absolute favorite Korean restaurant in town – Young Dong Tofu!
It's so good that I forget to look at the camera while eating😆
This gem is located in Chino Hills, and every time I swing by during mealtime, there's always a crowd patiently waiting – talk about a 30-minute wait minimum! 🥹
Their menu is straightforward, printed on the paper where they serve your dishes, with Chinese, English, and Korean, so no worries about getting lost in translation.
My go-to choices are the Beef Rib Soup and BBQ Beef Rib – seriously, they're a must-try and super delicious!
Once you've placed your order, they bring out four little side dishes – kimchi, bean sprouts, vinegar-marinated seaweed, and cucumbers.
The soy sauce-looking one is the dipping sauce for the Beef Rib Soup – trust me, it's a game-changer!
Their kimchi is a bit different, taste like fresh cabbage with a spicy sauce. The cucumbers are a bit more sour than the kimchi, but not as tangy as the Taiwanese pickles.
I'm not a big fan, but 🌞 loves them, so it's a win-win situation! 😂
The vinegar-marinated seaweed is legit awesome!
It's got that tangy kick, and whether you're talking about the flavor or the texture, it's a solid win👌
Now, the bean sprouts – personally, I'm kinda into them. There's a hint of sesame oil that adds a nice fragrance, plus a sprinkle of black pepper for that extra kick. Totally loving it! 😍
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the Beef Rib Soup.
Just look at it – so darn appetizing with all those beef bones, scallion, egg, and red dates. You've got Korean glass noodles soaking up all that flavorful broth, plus a side bowl of stone pot rice.
If you're worried about chewing the meat off the bones, ask for scissors and tongs – it makes life easier. The meat is already tasty, but you can kick it up a notch with their sauces – trust me, it's worth it!
And if you're a soup lover like me, grab a big spoon from the staff for that extra satisfying slurp. 😍
Moving on to the BBQ Beef Rib
A mountain of onions and beef ribs on a hot plate. The perfect blend of savory and sweet in the Korean barbecue sauce, and the meat is top-notch, all lean with no fatty bits – seriously, it deserves the first-place trophy in my BBQ Beef Rib rankings! 🥇
So there you have it! Who can resist Young Dong? If you're in Los Angeles, this is a must-try spot! 🤩
